Description

A movement and color recognition game where children form a “train” by responding to called colors, lining up, and moving together to music.

Details

1 - 6 years

Materials required

Instructions:

1. Prepare color tickets and give one to each child.

2. Ask all children to stand around the room.

3. Call out “All aboard the colour train” and name a color.

4. Children with that color come to the front and give their ticket.

5. Those children line up to form a train.

6. Each child places their hands on the shoulders of the person in front.

7. Play music and walk the train around the room.

8. Stop the music and repeat with a new color.

Variations & tips:

1. Call out two colors at the same time to make a longer train.

2. Change how the train moves, such as tiptoeing, marching, or moving slowly.

3. Add sound effects where the train must say “choo choo” while moving.
