Pair Up on a Newspaper

A fun teamwork and balance game on a newspaper.

7 - 10 years, 11 - 19 years, Adults

Any number of players

10 to 30 minutes

Materials required

Instructions:
1. Divide participants into pairs and give each pair one sheet of newspaper.
2. Ask each pair to spread the newspaper flat on the floor and stand on it together.
3. Play music and have participants move around the room.
4. When the music stops, each pair must quickly return and stand on their newspaper.
5. Fold each newspaper in half after every round.
6. Restart the music and repeat the process.
7. As the newspaper gets smaller, pairs must balance closely together without stepping off.
8. Any pair that steps off the newspaper is out, and the game continues until one pair remains.
Variations & tips:
1. During the dance between rounds, you can call out a styles like “do a silly walk" or "dance like a robot"
2. In the last round while standing on the smallest sheet of paper, the surviving pair strikes a dramatic / funny pose together, and holds it for 10 seconds.
