Instructions:
There are two versions of this game. One is better for older students, and one is better for all students.
Older student version:
1. Choose a volunteer student to be the "conductor."
2. This student will stand at the front of the class, and all the other participating students will sit.
3. The conductor will point at a student, and this student must start telling a made-up story in English.
4. The conductor will randomly point at other students, and each new student must continue the story. If the conductor points at another student while the person telling the story has not finished his or her sentence, the person telling the story must stop speaking, and the new student must complete the sentence.
5. The conductor can shout commands such as "louder" or "quieter" as s/he conducts the story.
6. The teacher may choose to switch conductors so that many people may get a chance to conduct.
General student version:
1. Instruct the students to form a circle.
2. Choose one student to start telling a made-up story in English.
3. After the first student has told one sentence of the story, the student sitting to his or her right must continue the story. This will continue until the story goes all the way around the circle and returns to the student who started telling it. S/he must decide upon an ending for the story.
4. Each student will say one sentence of the story, and each student must get a chance to speak.
Variations & tips:
The conductor can change the story genre mid-game (e.g., "Now it's a horror story!" or "Make it a mystery!") to increase challenge and fun.
