Instructions:
1. Breathe in together deeply.
2. Count down from 5 to 1 with each breath.
3. Sit quietly for a few seconds after.
Variations & tips:
1. Have students raise their arms while breathing in and lower them slowly as they count down.
2. Let students hold a feather, scarf, or pinwheel to visualize their breath moving.
3. After the countdown, have children whisper something kind to themselves like, “I am calm” or “I am strong.”
