Instructions:
1. Get a stack of A4 sheets of paper and write different numbers on each of them.
2. Tape the papers randomly on the wall.
3. Arrange the children into two lines. These lines will be the two teams in the game.
4. The facilitator will give an equation (e.g. 4+8 or 17-8 ), and the answer to it will be on the wall.
5. Two players from each line will go against each other to solve the problem as fast as they can, and find the answer on the board.
7. Once they find it, they tap the answer with their hand or with a flyswatters.
8. Whoever hits the answer the fastest wins a point for his or her team.
9. Repeat steps 1-5 until all the children have gotten a turn.
Variations & tips:
1. This game can be adapted to listening and reading skills.
e.g. a question can be asked like "which of these is an animal with a long trunk?" and the student can tap the word elephant.
2. This game can also be adapted to word problems, such as "I had 10 apples and Leena ate 5, how many do I have now?"
3. For younger groups, the number posters can include countable items (3 apples, 4 pears etc)
